February meeting

The next meeting of Group 2012 will be held on Wednesday 15 February at Friends’ House, St Giles, OX1 3LW (http://www.oxfordquakers.org/) at 7pm.

We will discuss the elevator pitch, have some practice if anyone is up for it, plus chat and socialise.

There might be a very small charge to cover the cost of hiring the room, but we estimate this will be in the region of £1-2, depending on the number of people attending.

We look forward to seeing many of you there.

Some members have blogged about this meeting: Sally here and Vikki here.

  1. Thanks for the meeting last night, with James Attlee. I hope that I have now registered/logged in to this blog correctly! Anyone receiving this? From Philip Davies.

  2. On Wednesday evening, someone (was it Dennis?) mentioned a centre for Day Courses in Creative Writing for children aged 8 – 12. My son (age 9) is very keen to improve his writing – any further info? I’m at: revdavies@btinternet.com. Thanks, Philip Davies.

  3. sorry to miss the last meeting – old age and infirmity rule sometimes!

I was hoping that we’d be able to network through Group 2012 and that we might put together a sort of register of interests to facilitate this?

  4. Hello Everyone, this is just to say that Ali Shaw, the author of ‘The Girl With Glass Feet’ and ‘The Man Who Rained’ will be appearing at the March meeting (Wednesday 21st March at 7pm, at the Friends’ Meeting House). Amongst other things, he’ll be talking about that thrilling leap from part-time writer while holding down another full time paid job, to support-yourself, this-is-your-profession full-time job. More to come . . .
